Botulinum Toxin is a naturally occurring protein derived from Bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The treatment Botulinum Toxin which is best known as Botox® has been used since 2002 to treat lines and wrinkles in millions of people all over the world.

It was also the first of its kind to receive approval by the FDA (Food and Drug administration). Azzalure, Dysport, Vistabel, Bocouture and Botox ® are trade names but all contain the same active ingredient Botulinum toxin type A.

Whenever we laugh, frown, concentrate or squint our facial muscles contract and the skin creases. As we get older the skin loses elasticity and these creases deepen further, eventually becoming permanent.

The lines between our eyes become particularly noticeable at a young age, making us look stressed, angry and worried. By injecting tiny amounts of Toxin precisely into specific facial muscles, the nerve impulses responsible for the contraction of these muscles are blocked.

This causes temporary weakness or paralysis of that muscle resulting in the overlying skin becoming rested and smooth.

Botulinum Toxin has been used safely by trained professionals for over 20 years.

Tens of thousands of clients have Botox procedures every year, which makes it the number 1 cosmetic procedure in the UK. It is licensed to treat many other medical conditions.

A tiny needle is used so discomfort is minimal. However, at We Love Aesthetics we offer all our clients the option of topical anaesthesia, which is a numbing cream that may be applied unto 20 minutes before the procedure. Treatment time is approximately 30 minutes inclusive of consultation.

Excessive Sweating (Hyperhydrosis) can be a huge problem for individuals, exasperated in the summer months.

Toxin is expertly placed under the armpits (50 units each armpit). The results are almost instantaneous and last up to 6 months. Hyperhydrosis consultations are required prior to treatment.

Results typically last about three to four months. Repeat injections are needed to maintain results.
